A Little Bit About Me
Have you ever met a muslim hippie? :) Perhaps that's a good way to describe my personality. I'm a spiritual woman that likes to see beauty in life. I am moved by the sight, sounds and smell of the ocean or moon lit nights where the stars glitter along the sky. I am moved by the Quran with so many beautiful verses like 33:35 to name just one that touches me. I also enjoy doing yoga and meditating on the beauty and purpose of life. In addition to being spiritually inclined, I am passionate about my career as an environmental scientist. I joined this field because I enjoyed the mental challenge of the subject area. However, as time went on I evolved to see that the joy in what I do comes from the ability to help other people. This brings so much more meaning, purpose and passion to My work far beyond the satisfaction of simply obtaining knowledge. It's what you DO with knowledge that makes the difference. While I am blessed with a great career and a fairly comfortable life, I am simplistic in the things I enjoy. Generally speaking, I'm not very drawn to flashy things. I prefer silver to gold; flats to high heels; meaningful things to material ones. I am also pretty family oriented in that I am happy and at peace spending time with family and friends. I have truly been blessed in my life such that it's fulfilling in so many ways. Now feels like the right time to look for a connection with a like-minded, caring guy.

What I Am Looking For
I'm looking for a guy that considers himself to be "deep." Someone that is smart, sincere, honest, respectful (and respectable), with a generous, loving heart. I am looking for a guy that is humble, down to earth, open-minded (and that does not drink alcohol or smoke). I am drawn to people that seek to know their greater purpose in life, and strive to fulfill it. It would be nice to meet someone that is community oriented and that would be interested in volunteering together. I enjoy attending lectures at the masjid and going to Jummah so it would be nice to meet a guy that also likes doing these things, when possible. I also love to explore nature. I like taking scenic walks, visiting lakes, waterfalls, overlooks etc. These are wonderful places to sit, think, talk and reflect. I don't do long hikes. I Like to stop and take it all in. I hope to meet a guy that would be interested in doing some of those things with me. I like poetry too, but I won't push my luck! Lol. :) So now that I have laid it all out, I am excited to see who Allah brings into my life to take this journey with me. :) I have worked hard to cultivate inner peace for myself so I am not in a rush. I prefer to take my time to find the right kind of connection that can, inshaAllah, last the rest of this lifetime and beyond. By the way, international relocation isn't possible for me so I'm seeking someone from the US. Also, I have a multicultural family background and I love it! :) I literally can count 5 distinct cultural backgrounds and 3 to 4 languages within my family! (I speak English but I ubderstabd 2 other languages). Thus, it is important that any man I partner with not just accept diversity, but have an appreciation for it, inshaAllah! it's truly an amazing. bessing to be able to learn from, share with and relate to so many cultures. I know most muslims marry along cultural lines so I'm mentioning this here. :)
